Cadet Operations Officer

A Cadet Operations Officer is a cadet who's job is to assist the senior member operations officer (composite squadron) in the performance of his or her duties.

Duties

According to CAPR 20-1, the duties of a cadet operations are as follows:

  • Implantation of higher headquarters directives
  • Preparation of reports
  • Coordinate with other cadet staff sections
  • Utilization and control of aircraft and equipment
  • Direction of cadet participation in squadron operations
  • Related duties as required

CAPR 20-1 also states that the cadet operations officer should be familiar with CAP directives as listed in CAPP 52-14.

The Cadet Operations Officer is a cadet on the support staff of a squadron.

Position at different command levels

Cadet operation officers are rarely used at the squadron level unless the squadron is very top-heavy and has several officers and limited staff positions. They are also used very rarely to none at encampments and NCSA's.
