Cadet Communications Officer

A Cadet Communications Officer is a cadet who's job is to assist the senior member communications officer (composite squadron) in the performance of his or her duties.

Duties

According to CAPR 20-1, the duties of a cadet communications officer are as follows:

  • Operation of squadron net control stations
  • Administration
  • Communications training
  • Communications supply
  • Related duties as required

CAPR 20-1 also states that the cadet communications officer should be familiar with CAP directives listed in this regulation in this regulation (CAPR 20-1) for the senior member communications officer.

General Information

A cadet communications officer is a cadet on a squadrons support staff.

Position at different command levels

Cadet communication officers are not generally used at squadrons unless they are top-heavy and have a lot of officers and not enough staff positions, or squadrons that may be heavily involved with emergency services. They may be used at encampments as the C/Communications OIC.
